Reliance Jio, Airtel drive telecom subscriber base in India rose to 1,173.89 million in June

India's telecom subscriber base grew slightly to 1,173.89 million in June, mainly due to new customer additions by Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The growth in mobile telephony was offset by subscriber losses by BSNL, MTNL, and Vodafone Idea. The net addition in wireless subscribers for telecom operators in June was 373,602. Wireline connections also increased, led by APFPL. The total broadband subscribers reached 861.47 million, with the top five service providers holding a 98.37% market share.
