Canada may launch probe into ChatGPT maker OpenAI, here’s why

Canadian regulators have launched a joint investigation into the data collection and usage of OpenAI’s ChatGPT following concerns over privacy issues. The federal privacy regulator along with counterparts in three Canada territories will investigate the AI research company which has become popular since it was launched in December 2022. ChatGPT’s popularity led to an AI race that has caused the EU and several countries to draft laws that govern the use of the technology.
